Yan Chai Residence Transitional Housing
Hong Kong
Yan Chai Residence, a collaborative endeavor between Cybertecture and the Yan Chai Hospital Board, redefines transitional housing. Supported by the Housing Bureau’s Funding Scheme for Transitional Housing Projects, YCR is more than a shelter—it’s a beacon of hope for families facing extended waits for public rental housing.
Comprising two residential buildings with 212 units, YCR caters to diverse family sizes. Beyond the basics, each unit is meticulously designed, featuring cooking spaces and well-appointed bathrooms, ensuring a true sense of home.
YCR distinguishes itself by fostering community through “Social Capital Establishment.” Employment consultation, skills training, and individual support create a community marked by care, mutual assistance, and inclusiveness.
Strategically located in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong, YCR provides residents access to communal areas, promoting social interaction. Additional recreational facilities at Hoi Shing Garden and Tsuen Wan Promenade enrich the living experience.
In essence, Yan Chai Residence is a testament to the transformative power of community and compassion, addressing immediate housing needs while paving the way for brighter futures.
